Work Work Work

So Greg made it home from Colorado just fine, and to agree with Bry, He said it was really fricken cold and he was glad to be back in Texas where its a little warmer at least. Over all he had a good trip, and then got a day off on Thursday and we got to sleep in and snuggle and just enjoy each other for the morning. Thursday afternoon I worked, and all day friday I worked and he had a flight anyway so it all worked out just fine. I'm trying to get myself ready for the next week. I never intended on working a 30 hour week at Victorias Secret, but yup, next week. At least 30 hours. I really dont mind, Greg has another trip coming up, and some flights during the week, so its more a way to keep myself busy while he's gone. And once I get through this week-- ITS HOME FOR CHRISTMAS! I cannot wait!

I am a little worried. I thought this week was long, and its really taking a tole on my shoulder, and without chiropractic insurance its more than a little frustrating. I cannot wait until the 21st when I go in for my doctors appointment, hopefully they can refer me to see a Chiro and I can get it approved through the insurance. Dad said its an option and I'm hoping it works. Only ten more days until we set foot on ground in Wisconsin. Its crazy! By this time that day we'll be there already. I'm so excited.

I cant wait for Christmas! And for everyone to see what I got them. They're all gonna love it! LOVE LOVE LOVEEEEE it! :) Now if only I could get the cats to stop eating the tree... Miss you all!

All Alone on this cold winters night

So Greg is off on a trip up in Colorado, and I'm all alone wrapping christmas presents and trying to find stuff to do. Its hard to entertain yourself when you're used to being surrounded by people!

I processed 5 boxes of panties at work today though. So not my favorite task, but a job is a job, and it pays my bills, and its better than having a whole day to try and waste, so all in all I'm grateful for it.

I'm really excited for tomorrow though! Me and Devon and Amber are gonna have a girls day! We're finishing up our christmas shopping, and spending the day in our pjs watching movies and playing board games and talking about our hubbies and life in general. There will be pizza, and popcorn, and I really hope chocolate. I CANNOT wait. I love girls days. I haven't had one in FOREVERZZ!

Ha ha. Well only a few more weeks until we get to go home! Yay home! I cant wait to see the snow. I'm hoping we'll be able to go ice fishing, since I've never been able to go. Thats what I told Gregs dad I wanted for Christmas. I cant wait to see the look on peoples faces when they see what I got them for Christmas!!! YAY. Its silly that I'm this excited about it, but I'm really proud of myself. Great presents!

Its Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas...

So we borrowed a little 3 foot tree from my friend Devon, and we spent yesterday afternoon christmas shopping and decorating it. It was so much fun! We put on Christmas music, and I was singing and Greg helped me set up the tree. It was awesome. It finally feels like home down here. I re-organized the living room so now we have a good spot for the tree and it looks a ton larger in here now! Its crazy how a small change can make a space look so different. We finally got it feeling like home right before we move to the new apartment. Ha ha. Of course. (This picture is the new ornament we got for our first christmas together! Its a wedding cake!

We picked out presents for our angel this weekend. We got him a transformer, some hot wheels, and the socks that he needed. (Its like a toys for tots thing only you actually pick a specific person that has wants and needs). It felt really good to know that we gave back to our community this year.

Something about christmas just makes me so happy. Especially this year. Our first Christmas together. We even got snow once! That was the best part. Course I love my hubby too! :) This is going to be the best christmas ever!

Joy Joy Joy

Its late, I cant sleep, and I have to be up early to go to work tomorrow. Oh the joys of the holiday season and early shifts just to stock up on everything. The good news is I can wear comfy clothes when I'm processing so I'm looking forward to that a lot. I've started working on finding christmas presents for everyone, and I'm excited a lot for that! I think I've got all the perfect presents picked out this year! (Yay me!)

I'm still trying to figure out what I can possibly get Greg for christmas, but I'm sure I'll find the perfect present in time, just is going to take some seriously thinking on my part and shopping around. I have a few ideas, but none that seem like what I want to try and give him.

I'm really getting used to Texas finally. Today we got to go out and have lunch with a big group of friends, and I got to do some shopping with one of Gregs work buddie's girlfriend. We had a good time. We ended up buying a little girl named Ramera some shoes. It was kinda like toys for tots, only instead they had a Christmas tree set up with Angels on it, and on each angel was a child and it listed what they really wanted, and what they needed and then they're sizes. So we picked out a little girl and got her some shoes. Greg was working the table in the mall at the time, so I had him pick out a little boy for me and him to shop for too. Just makes you feel better if you can give back a little. I know we dont have much, but there are a lot of people out there with less, and it doesn't take much to give a helping hand.

Just remember to keep giving, and loving those around you!

Dimanche

So we've had a very long and interesting weekend, but it was a lot of fun. Sunday especially. We finally went to Gordons and picked out my ring! I was soooo excited. We spent like 3 hours talking with the employees and looking at different settings and diamonds and we finally found it! The perfect ring! And the good news- 30 day return policy no questions asked, and they are pretty sure I will not be allergic! YAY!!! Here it is! I love it I love it I love it.

I cannot wait for tomorrow. The long wait for the government to pay our funds they owe will finally come in. Though if something goes wrong I might just cry, because I cant handle another disappointment. On the good side, work is going really well. I'm getting decent hours, mostly in the morning and I'm getting to know a lot of other cool military wives. Which is always awesome.

We're moving on December 29th to a brand new apartment. We'll be the first people to live in it, so I'm trying to slowly pack things up and get them ready for that since we'll be coming home soon! (Still crazy excited- hope theres snow) But the new apartment is a 3 bedroom, and we'll have two roommates, but we figure its more important getting our finances in order and being able to save money now than live on our own. We're still young, we can still enjoy having roommates. :-) There will be shananigans and ridiculousness and it will be fun!

The Beginning

So I'm going to take a page out of Bry and Marks book and make our own family blog! (We have more babies though, and cuter ones too!) Thanksgiving in the Marquardt house hold was slightly ridiculous. Our turkey took roughly 9 hours to bake, and in hindsight we probably should have uncovered it long before we did. Even when it was done only half was done, silly foil mishaps. But we had good company and great food and it was an all around wonderful way to have a great Thanksgiving without being able to be home with our families.

Black friday was not the most fun, seeing as I worked from 6:15 until 3:40, but Greg bought my Christmas present, and being the brat that I am I convinced him to let me open it last night. Its a new camera! My old one took a poop a few months ago, and I've wanted a new one but I figured it wasn't a necessity and could wait a long time if we had to. I was very exited!! I took some cute photos of the kitties last night who have been playing hide and seek and stalk under the kitchen table since we put it together Wednesday night. Its very entertaining.

I'm enjoying the new job a lot. I work with quite a few other air force wives, so we can all relate to the same things and have a lot in common. Thats really nice. Its starting to feel like home down here finally, but I cant wait to get back for christmas. I need a mom hug! I suppose sometime this week we'll get out and get some christmas shopping done for our families. :-)

Greg has been working hard, flying quite a bit lately, even got to go on a trip to Vegas! He didn't get to land or see anything fun but at least it was actually flying somewhere! Its been nice having him home for a 4 day weekend for sure, I just wish I could have more time off to enjoy it with him.

Oh Sunday we're going to Gordons to look at rings again and talk to a jeweler and see what kind of compromises we can come up with! I'm mucho excited! But for now I have to get ready to spend some time at VS organizing panties!
